Beetle looks great! I was out of town, and missed the big news but I'm glad you converted to the dark side.
The color looks awesome, Any performance goodies in mind?

Thanks buddy :)
Once I hit 5k miles, I'll be doing the APR reflash. Just software alone, Stage 1 is good for 260hp/300tq.

Awesome! I only wish APR goodies were available for the 2.8 on my A4. I'm pretty much limited to a snub mount.

Gen 2 is 255/285 just software. With intake its 269/295.
And reflash on the 2.0T is usually good for an extra mpg or 2 city and 3-4 on the highway.

Thanks to Hitachi, the ECU is not re-programmable and cannot be swapped with anything. Giac claims to have something, but I'm fairly sure that it'll only work with the 30v, and I've got a 12v. In other words, my performance pretty much can't change much.
It's sucky, but the car was cheap so I'm not complaining :)

Can't beat a good price!
And how does a car only have 2 valves per cylinder? O.o

Haha, I have no clue how they even pulled that one off. It's very uncommon for German cars to have that configuration I hear, they pulled the engine straight from the Audi 80 also, and it's supposed to keep up pretty good with the 1.8t of the same generation.

'08 Passat Wagon 2.0T, 6spd. It's quite enjoyable to drive even stock, supposedly 220 hp (I think) but it feels very underrated!

Did a little searching on APR last night. Damn, that intake is expensive! Clearly there was some R&D time put into it, but wow. Their products are intriguing though. Slowly growing list of things we can do to the wife's wagon!
